My name is Rhys Atyeo, and I am the co-founder of Atyeo Photography. My photography journey began when my dad became the main photographer for Porthcawl RFC’s U7s–U15s teams from 2016 to 2024. The business was started to honour my dad’s memory and keep his passion for photography alive.Photography has been in my blood ever since I started playing rugby. My journey really began when I got injured just before the 2025 and skipped out on three months of rugby and football, which kept me out of football and rugby for three months. During that time, I focused on learning how to properly take photos and develop my skills behind the camera. I used that period to gain experience so that whenever I was injured or unable to play sport, I could still stay involved by taking pictures. Football photography became a big part of my early career, as I stepped away from playing and focused more on learning how to capture great moments through photography. Through practice and experience, I was able to improve my work and showcase my best images on my homepage.This dedication led to an amazing opportunity — at just 16 years old, I was given the chance to photograph the Welsh women’s team.I hope to keep this business running until I’m around 18 years old. After that, I hope to become a pilot, although I would also love to continue working in media, either as a photographer or managing a rugby media team. One of my biggest dreams would be to photograph the Welsh national rugby team at the Principality Stadium and have the chance to meet the players involved.
